The 2019 Valentine Tango Ball will again be held in the air-conditioned comfort of the spectacular Concert Hall at the Brisbane Old Museum.
Performers at the ball will be internationally acclaimed teachers and performers Nick Jones & Diana Cruz (Denver, Colorado, U.S.A.). In recent years they have worked closely with the great Gustavo Naveira. Their performances are elegant, physically awesome, imaginative and always gaspingly spectacular. Simply not to be missed.
Be prepared to experience new musical highs as The Mendoza Tango Quartet will this year be augmented with guest bandoneon and violin players. Diana may well add to Solange's vocal section. And the now legendary Daniel Rojas-Gonzales returns to Mendoza to once more enthrall us with his passionate piano playing. New sounds will fill the grand old concert hall!
Booking is essential for this event as numbers are strictly limited. You have a choice of a table (10-12 places) or individual seats. Paying for a table will save you money. There is a reduced price for non-dancers. Purchase your ticket online from the museum booking site. If you encounter problems, please call 32574089 and speak to Sandra or Alannah.
Workshops and Milongas
Nick & Diana will offer a series of six workshops from 15-17 February. Many have already experienced their teaching style: it is clear, insightful and fun. They have a deep understanding of beautiful organic body movement and a mastery of the principles that underlie Argentine Tango. Note that most workshops and Tangonut Milonga will be in the airconditioned Montana Art Space at West End.
